I’ve been struggling with one of the work for hire projects that is keeping me away from Wahoo Morris, and I got some bad news about a job I was trying out for yesterday, so to clear my head I sat down and inked this in the space of two hours.

I might end up using it as chapter break art in the next volume.

The deluge that has been my work schedule over the past two months has slowed down a bit. On Friday I finish up the final week of The Mighty Motor-Sapiens. Then on the weekend I will tinker a little bit with Wahoo Morris. Next week I am going to see how far I can get on the story for the Image Comics Tori Amos anthology, THEN, the following week I will be returning to Wahoo Morris full time until my storyboard gig starts up in April.

I’m going to start off by finishing up the unfinished pages, then probably pencil a 5 or 6 page sequence before inking those. I’ll be scanning and updating as things are finished off, but it might be another three weeks before I am caught up to where I should be. I will be backdating pages as they go up so it will look like there was never a break, but I’m not sure how that will show up in RSS feeds, so please do check back often over the next three weeks as I get back up to speed and finish up those loose ends in the recent archives!

So I’m still behind. But, the good news is that the animation test I did last week was successful and I’ve been asked to board on the show which starts in April. In the meantime the studio asked if I’d like to work on one of their shows already in production… so I’ve got to do another test to get a board for March.

Anyway, I will be trying to get back on track probably the week after next. Then I have a week off between my current paid gig and the next, so I should be able to catch up.

And…. the 26 week run comes crashing to an end!!!!

I’m afraid this was all I could get done before I was crushed under my current workload. I’m not sure at the moment what I am going to be posting next week, if anything. The crush of work doesn’t end for another two weeks, so it’ll be at least three weeks before I can even begin to make headway into getting caught up and back on track.

The Mighty Motor-Sapiens concludes in 3 more weeks, so the week following that I am thinking of dedicating to WM to get either caught up or a little ahead before the next paid gig starts.

So, just what else am I working on? Well, my regular gig at the moment and for the next 5 weeks is pencilling and inking the daily web comic The Mighty Motor-Sapiens for Rowdy dotCom. I am contracted by Insight Studios, and late last week they got me a very last minute and rush job doing a few days of fill ins for Microsoft’s new web comic which will eventually show up here. I am also drawing a 5 page story, written by Jim Bricker, which will appear in Comic Book Tatoo from Image Comics, an anthology of stories inspired by the songs of Tori Amos. The rough pencils are due next Friday. And… I just got asked if I would be willing to do a storyboard test to get work on an animated TV show. I need paid work once the Motor-Sapiens runs out, so I’ll be spending the next few days and the weekend doing the test after I get caught up on the Motor Sapiens.

If I’m honest with myself, and with you, then chances are I won’t get next week’s page inked on time either. I’ll try, but it’s likely that inked pages won’t return until February 6th.

Once again time has got away from me and I’m forced to post pencils instead of a finished page.

Yay! A finished page. I was up until 1 A.M. last night finishing it, but I got it done.
